Donation Total: $100

Over these past 10 years, there has been more and more of a demand for retreats and the use of our Retreat House in Playas de Tijuana, especially from local high schools and universities. In June of this year we began construction of a new building, as an annex to the existing retreat house, in order to provide 20 more rooms (for a maximum occupancy of 40 students). The total cost of construction is $375,000 dollars.

We have begun a capital campaign to raise this amount, in order to provide much needed additional space for our retreatants by early next year. If you can help, please donate online today.

Tarahumara Children’s Hospital 2024

$41,000 of $100,000 raised

In 1964, a young, ambitious and compassionate Jesuit Catholic priest, Fr. Luis G. Verplancken, S.J., started putting into action a wellness ministry in the Tarahumara Copper Canyon region of the Sierra Madre Mountains in the State of Chihuahua in Mexico.

Working with the Tarahumara for over 50 years, we have been improving the lives in the Tarahumara. This care continues with the generous support of many loyal Tarahumara Mission friends.

  • No longer are 4 out of 5 children dying before the age of 5.
  • The 75 bed hospital and its dedicated staff has dramatically improved the life expectancy of children who now grow into a mature life of 60-70 years.
  • Food is distributed in lean years, clean water is becoming more readily available, children are educated and health care can be administered in Creel in support of the surrounding communities.
