Fernando Consag, S.J. Reference Library

$45,000 of $52,000 raised

In June of 2020 the Board of Directors approved this new initiative in order to house close to 1,000 volumes of historical reference material relating to the history of the Baja California Peninsula. Most of the collection will consist of geographical information, the original native inhabitants and the Jesuit Missions dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries. The future library will be named after one of our prominent Jesuit missionaries, Ferdinand Konscak (1703-1759) originally from Croatia; he was known as a key explorer, cartographer and linguist, primarily in and around the St. Ignatius Mission.

We hope to have the facility completed in early 2021. The total cost of construction will be $52,000 dollars.

It is located adjacent to the Manresa Retreat House in Playas de Tijuana, overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Please consider supporting this worthy effort!
